Project Management

Within the network a clear management structure is essential to ensure adequate task distribution and to support the coordinator. The management consists of a supervisory board and several Work Packages (WP´s), whereas the leaders of the WP´s are responsible for coordinating collaborative work within their WPs and reporting regularly every 12 month to the network coordinator.

The Network Coordinator is responsible for organizational aspects of the project in close interaction with the respectively PIs or employees, supported by a Network Manager.

The Network Manager provides administrative assistance to the coordinator and the Supervisory Board and is responsible for all the contractual and financial aspects of the project. The Network Manager reports to the European Commission, and is, beside this, a steady and reliable node between the employees and other parts of the network, supporting the local organizers in organizing the network meetings and courses, and mediates and facilitates the interaction with other networks and institutions/companies. The Network manager will as well coordinate the efforts of the partners to facilitate matters concerning the mobility of the fellows of MERIT.

The governace structure, aspects of IPR and dispute procedures in detail is specified by a Consortium Agreement based on the DESCA format.
